Catawba Trail's Art Show will be taking place on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 PM! Please come out and see the great work our students have done. Everyone will be able to participate in the creativity stations that will be set up during the show! The stations include origami, pictionary, bookmark making, painting and more! Hope to see you there!
Stop by the Columbia Place Mall before March 17th to see the District Art Show! Students from all grade levels have work on display. Our display is located at the back of the Food Court.
The dates and location for the Richland School District Two Art Show have been announced! The art show will take place from March 3rd to March 17th at the Columbia Place Mall.
Please come to the mall to see our students' awesome artwork on display! You will also get to see all the amazing things other schools in our district are doing in their art departments. It is time to start preparing for this year's schoolwide project! Last year's bottle cap mural was a huge success. Two years ago, we made an awesome series of horseshoe paintings! This year, we will be working with plastic water bottles to make a hanging sculpture. We would greatly appreciate it if you could save your clear, plastic water bottles and have your child bring them to school. Make sure they are clean and the lids are still on, please! We are looking for the 16 to 18 ounce bottles. (Mrs. Pasco is also currently collecting 2 liter soda bottles!) The bottle that will work best for us are the ones with the thinner, more flexible plastic (not soda bottles or Aquafina).
Please contact Mrs. Luckie with any questions or concerns! You can contact her via email ([email protected]) or phone (803) 699-3501 ext. 35305. It is time to start preparing for the school art show! I am looking for volunteers to help mount artwork for the show. The mounted artwork will be sent off and framed for the night of the art show, March 11th. Parents will be able to purchase the framed artwork, with proceeds going back to the school!
If you are the parent or guardian of a student and you are able to donate some time to mounting artwork, please let me know! You can email me ([email protected]) or call me at (803) 699-3501 ext. 35305. The process is simple and straightforward! Any amount of time, big or small, will help! I am excited to announce the date of the 2013-2014 Catawba Trail Elementary Art Show! Mark your calenders...the art show will be held on March 11, 2014. There will be lots of fun, interactive activities too! I am already getting excited!!!
-Mrs. Luckie We have been busy in the art room since the beginning of the year! At our Back to School night, everyone got to see the bottle cap mural we made last year on display! We have been doing lots of awesome projects this year. We started out with a Post-It art project. Each student drew a tiny piece of art on a Post-It Note and they were all displayed together. Since then, we have completed drawing pre-tests, made portfolios, and worked on self-portraits in first through fifth grade. Kindergarten has done both drawing and painting.
All students are currently working with our student teacher, Ms. Goulet, who is teaching them about Eric Carle and collage. She has brought lots of fun, new ideas to the art room! All related arts areas have started something new for second through fifth grades this year. Every sixth day of our rotation is called Extension Day. Students have chosen different areas of interest and they are able to attend one of those areas on Extension Day. Students who come to Art Club have been working on art inspired by Hispanic artists in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Please visit Artsonia to see your child's artwork and make a comment on what they have done! Stay tuned to the blog for more updates! |
