We have been busy in the art room since the beginning of the year! At our Back to School night, everyone got to see the bottle cap mural we made last year on display!
We have been doing lots of awesome projects this year. We started out with a Post-It art project. Each student drew a tiny piece of art on a Post-It Note and they were all displayed together. Since then, we have completed drawing pre-tests, made portfolios, and worked on self-portraits in first through fifth grade. Kindergarten has done both drawing and painting.
All students are currently working with our student teacher, Ms. Goulet, who is teaching them about Eric Carle and collage. She has brought lots of fun, new ideas to the art room!
All related arts areas have started something new for second through fifth grades this year. Every sixth day of our rotation is called Extension Day. Students have chosen different areas of interest and they are able to attend one of those areas on Extension Day. Students who come to Art Club have been working on art inspired by Hispanic artists in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Please visit Artsonia to see your child's artwork and make a comment on what they have done! Stay tuned to the blog for more updates!
